Anavan’s music featured on “Greek”

Anavan’s track, “The Perfect Sound,” was featured in a recent episode of ABC Family’s tv series “Greek.” I helped co-write and produce the song which appeared on Anavan’s second album, “Cover Story.“ The song can be heard during a party scene in the episode; a fitting use as the song is perfect for any party.

The Trivial Pursuits of Arthur Banks

The Trivial Pursuits of Arthur Banks is a new project created for AMC. It is directed by Peter Glanz for whom I have worked with several times in the past.

Adam Goldberg plays the role of Arthur Banks, a successful playwright with a not so successful history of romantic relationships. He brings his troubles to his therapist, played by Jeffery Tambor, which generally include troubles with his revolving door of love interests. Also lending an ear to Arthur’s problems is his good friend, played by Pete Chekvala, who gives him frank but sometimes cretinous advice. The show follows Arthur as he readies his latest play, all the while putting out fires relating to the women around him.

For this project I was in charge of all things related to sound in post production. This included sound editing, foley, ADR, mixing and creating deliverables. Certain requirements for the deliverables had to be met, and several formats created.

Clay

Clay is an independent short film directed by David Kashkooli starring Pete Chekvala and Darby Stanchfield. The story takes place inside an elevator and focuses on the two characters’ conversation about a mistaken identity.

I was in charge of the entire post production sound mixing and editing for this piece. The primary focus of the film is the dialog between the two characters so much of my effort was placed into cleaning up dialog and removing unwanted noise from the elevator which was shot on-location. Minimal sound design was needed, but I wanted to maintain the realism of the environment; the elevator movement, the doors opening, the floor-bell ringing and the occasional office noise as destinations were reached in the elevator car. This film was mixed in 5.1 surround and should be appearing in festivals soon.
